18 months old

I'm on time!  Yes!!!

It is absolutely crazy to me that my little boy is well on his way to being two years old!  Where in the world does time go anyway?  He is such a delight and makes me laugh every day.  His personality is absolutely exploding and is so enjoyable to watch how he reacts to things, thinks through things, and experiments.

So this month....has been C.R.A.Z.Y.  Momma has had a crazy month with a lot going on, plus a huge storm, plus Daddy out of town, etc.  Tate has been so great through everything going on and we've tried to stay on schedule as much as possible.  However, the world is not perfect.  lol  Tate had been doing SOOOO great sleeping and then....Daddy went out of town. Tate and Momma got very little sleep that week.  This is after Momma threw Courtney's shower and was already completely worn out.  THEN....Derecho hit as my post explained, and we lost power and moved into my parents' for the weekend along with Eric's brother and his family.  Then a few more days of craziness and we're back to square one with sleep.  We are starting all over with getting Tate to bed and keeping him there.

He weighs 22.5 lbs and is 32 inches tall!

Some fun milestones have taken place however.  Tate does a GREAT forward roll!  It's so fun to watch him!  He has absolutely fallen in love with the movie Cars and points out all things Cars when we're out in a store with his enthusiastic vroom vroom.  He can point out pretty much anything you ask him in a book.  For whatever reason, Tate says dum or dom...hard to spell his pronunciation...for yes.  We don't know where it came from but we at least understand!  haha  He snaps his carseat himself now.  He climbs, climbs, climbs.  Standing in chairs, on top of tables, boxes, totes, you name it.  He knows the fish have to be fed daily and MUST be the one to do it.  He yells MOM!, waits, grins when I ask what he wants, then continues to repeat this pattern for about 30 minutes.

He has done soooo well at church.  Of course he finally reaches for the nursery workers and he'll be moving out of the nursery next month.

His independence is greatly increasing and he wants to do EVERYTHING himself.  He can take his pants off, helps with his shirt, feeds himself, brushes his teeth, etc.

He is very interested in the potty although we haven't used it yet.  He loves to sit on it so we're just encouraging that but not pushing it.  We don't want it to become something he dreads or doesn't like.

Gotta get some snuggles from Momma occasionally
I love my half birthday!
I told you he climbs everything!

Happy half birthday Tate!  Momma and Daddy love you so very much and we are so proud of you!  We are so blessed to be your parents and love watching you grow and develop!
